Taken a couple days after the first snowfall. Most of the snow
has been removed...except for the bits on top of the posts.
The garage and game room area has been roofed. Weatherproofing is happening. It's always a good
idea to have a weatherproof roof over your head in winter.
The stairs to the second story have
been built. You can see the rough
framing for the second floor has
started as well.
The beauty of building in snow
country...
To the left is the roof detail.
As the roof framing continues,
you are really able to see the
house take shape.
A sloped window sill insures
any moisture will drain to
the outside of the home.
**Look at the bubble in the
level to see the angle of the
slope.
The windows have been delivered and installation has
begun.
Kerton Construction uses several uniquely superior
methods to ensure a tight, leak-free window seal.
This is the kitchen window facing the fairway...it's a great view -
just look at the reflection!
Here is an example of how the
windows are wrapped. Adding extra
protection to the areas most prone
to leak help ensure a tight seal.
All of the windows have now been
installed and the roof is almost
finished.
A "Mock-up" of masonry and
siding is shown on the office
exterior.
The windows have been trimmed
and the siding has been started.
The siding is Trestlewood.
Trestlewood is sawn from Douglas
Fir piling of the Great Salt Lake's
Lucin Cutoff railroad trestle.
The house's Trestlewood siding
has almost been finished. A good
amount of the shingles have been
finished, the beginnings of stucco
has started and the masonry is
well underway.
While the siding has been finished, the
masons are still hard at work.
The pavers have been set and the custom
firepit is only missing its log kit. The
finishing sand is the only thing left.
The masonry at the garage is finished, the stucco is prepped and ready for color.
Our tile artisan has given each bathroom its own unique
identity.
The kids bath has a 'river' flowing across the room and up
through the shower.
